When he arrives in his hometown, Wyatt Aames is still there, still out and proud and everything Josiah secretly wanted when they were growing up. He can’t help feeling a tiny, fragile hope that this time, things might turn out differently. Especially when Wyatt seems set on teaching him that home isn’t the house you live in. This is a re-edited, rerelease of a book originally published by MLR in 2011. The book has been substantially expanded and improved in this edition.
The Review
Josiah Nelson has come home to face the hardest task ever – burying his abusive father the day after Christmas. But that’s not what he grieves at all. It’s returning to a home that he never felt loved in, and the remembrance of his Mother, Eunice, who passed ten years ago.
His Mother was the love of his life and his only true support. His father made horrible decisions in an already abusive situation. All Josiah knows is that he’s coming home to sadness and heartbreak, all due to the loss of his mother and memories.
Wyatt Aames is longtime friend and neighbor to Josiah. He still lives in his parents’ home and has made some very smart decisions in his life. He knows that Josiah is coming home, and there’s a lot of mending to be done between them.
Josiah doesn’t know what to expect of Wyatt, who was once a close friend. He and Wyatt lost contact with each other once Josiah left for Calgary. Josiah doesn’t understand how Wyatt could have been a friend to his abusive father.
There’s so much that Wyatt and Josiah have to come to grips with, and the emotions for both of them run high. But Josiah still doesn’t feel like he’s loved and cherished and plans to return to Calgary to sell the farm.
Can the Aames family rally around Josiah and prove that love comes in all kinds of different ways?
K-Lee Klein brings a hurt / comfort, sweet holiday story to her readers. Josiah’s story is very emotional as he starts the grieving process and remembers his mother.
The reunion with Wyatt and the Aames family proves to be heartwarming and humorous. Flora Aames, Wyatt’s mother, was such an outstanding character who showed Josiah how much she missed, and I also loved her best friend Eunice, Josiah’s mother.
K-lee Klein has a second book coming out in the series – “Finally Home 2 – Wyatt”. I’m can’t wait to see what she has planned for Wyatt!

Hi, I’m Maryann, I started life in New York, moved to New Hampshire and in 1965 uprooted again to Sacramento, California. Once I retired I moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 2011 and just moved back to Sacramento in March of 2018. My son, his wife and step-daughter flew out to Florida and we road tripped back so they got to see sights they have never seen. New Orleans and the Grand Canyon were the highlights. Now I am back on the west coast again to stay! From a young age Ialways liked to read.
I remember going to the library and reading the “Doctor Dolittle” books by Hugh Lofting. Much later on became a big fan of the classics, Edgar Alan Poe, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker and as time went by Agatha Christie, Ray Bradbury and Stephen Kingand many other authors.
My first M/M shifter book I read was written by Jan Irving the “Uncommon Cowboys” series from 2012. She was the first author I ever contacted and sent an email to letting her know how much I liked this series. Sometime along the way I read “Zero to the Bone”by Jane Seville, I think just about everyone has read this book!
As it stands right now I’m really into mysteries, grit, gore and “triggers” don’t bother me. But if a blurb piques my interest I will read the book.
My kindle collection eclectic and over three thousand books and my Audible collection is slowly growing. I have both the kindle and audible apps on my ipod, ipads, and MAC. So there is never an excuse not to be listening or reading.
I joined Goodreads around 2012 and started posting reviews. One day a wonderful lady, Lisa Horan of The Novel Approach, sent me an email to see if I wanted to join her review group. Joining her site was such an eye opener. I got introduce to so many new authors that write for the LGBTQ genre. Needless to say, it was heart breaking when it ended.
But I found a really great site, QRI and it’s right here in Sacramento. Last year at QSAC I actually got to meet Scott Coatsworth, Amy Lane and Jeff Adams.
