The Contingency Plan: An untimely death throws a marriage arrangement, the final phase of a treaty, into disarray. Now the Crown Prince of Zioneven can make his own choice from among the princess’s younger siblings. As a royal son in the matriarchal sovereignty of Sheburat, Prince Marcelo grew up knowing Royal sons never married. Never. Period. Except Prince Efren isn’t from Sheburat, and he has other plans.

The Best-Laid Plans: A death that wasn’t what it seemed … A kidnapping that isn’t what it seems … Time is running out. Enmeshed in political intrigue, death, and a kidnapping, will Prince Efren untangle the web of clues in time to save his naïve young husband, or will Prince Marcelo dig deep to discover a previously untapped inner strength and determination to facilitate his own survival?

Change of Plans: Once upon a time, two handsome young princes fell in love, faced down adversity, and lived happily-ever-after… until one romantic evening, they unwittingly ate a confection laced with a mind-wiping toxin. Are their chances at rekindling their love doomed? Or will their ignominious new beginning propel them toward a more teasingly fun rapport?

The Review

Book One, The Contingency Plan, is a short prequel of what will unfold. This story in an alternate world where for eighteen years, there has been peace between the kingdom of  Sheburat and the kingdom of Zioneven.

The land of Zioneven entered into a treaty to have their son the Crown Prince Efren marry the daughter of Sheburat when she turned 18. The Princess is a twin. Sheburat is a matriarchal sovereignty, where the women reign and the males are not included in any of the politics etc. The women are better educated and more informed.

So when Prince Efren arrives, the people of Sheburat have been mourning the death of the Princess supposedly caused by a riding accident who was the bride to be. Here is where the title comes into play…..A Marriage there will be…..and Prince Marcelo is the contingency plan.

A delightful beginning…

Book  2, The Best Made Plans, is a continuation  with the marriage of Princes’ Efren and Marcelo. This story in an alternate world where for eighteen years, there has been a peace treaty between the kingdoms of  Sheburat and the kingdom of Zioneven.

Crown Prince Efren was to marry the daughter of Sheburat when she turned 18.  Sheburat is a matriarchal sovereignty, where the women reign and the males are not included in any of the politics etc. The women are better educated and more informed.

Prince Efren arrives for his wedding and the people of Sheburat have been mourning the death of the Princess; the bride to be. The Queen offers her next daughter in line who is not quite 18 yet and Prince Efren offers a shocking idea.  He wishes not to wait but to marry her son Prince Marcelo instead.

The Prince has been raised to understand in this world he will never marry. His education had been stopped with the girls being groomed to achieve power and be worldly. He is a kind and intelligent young man and Efren sees him as a partner.

We watch as Marcelo and Efren  attraction grows. We learn there is much intrigue in the castle learning the Princess’s death may not be an accident. The return to Zioneven is fraught with intrigue and kidnapping. Marcelo has to use his wits to help himself something he is not trained to do. Efren and his men are at a loss to where Marcelo is……. It’s a great story.

Book # 3, Change of Plans, is the last book in the trilogy.

We have read how and why there was a marriage to take place between the two lands: Sheburat and Zioneven. Crown Prince Efren used his wiles to get to marry young Prince Marcelo. The Prince had no thought of ever marrying, and as this ruling was accepted and ordered by his mother the Queen, naïve Marcelo had no choice. He couldn’t help it that he had butterflies thinking of himself with Efren.

Traveling to Zioneven after the ceremony and leaving his home was something he never thought of doing. But the trip turned out to be a tremendous learning experience for Marcelo and in the aftermath his husband the Crown Prince has so much more respect for him and tried to show how much…..

To show how much he loved him Efren ordered some candy from the candy man in Sheburat and had it shipped special for Marcelo. This book opens when the young men wake the next morning after eating the candy.

The scene was so difficult to read with the confusion of both of them….eventually it was found out they were poisoned with Forget-Me-Not poisoning…..They no longer remember falling in love, Marcelo doesn’t remember how fierce he was in the trip from hell….All the pieces are explained in this story… lies, deceit and a really good story!
