About The Book

Most people believe magic only lives in the imagination and fanciful thoughts, but the signs are becoming more pronounced, and therefore difficult to ignore. Something monstrous wants control.

Now it’s up to a select chosen few, a humble group who deal in magic and the paranormal, to prepare to face and inevitably fight this darkness. The battle is coming near. It whispers of horrors and echoes of screams.

A band of brothers in arms, brought together by the fates will be shoved into the unsteady world of ghosts, demons, and beings that prefer the darkness. The howls of wolf shifters in the distant hills are coming for Sky, Jessie, Tom, David, and James. Some will be comrades joining the fight, while others will be foes, aligned with the unholy. Necessary allies, fated to be found will increase the group’s powers along their plight.

This will be a fight that decides who will control the domain of this Earth. The overwhelmed and unknowing group face off against a wickedness they could not have dreamed of, all the while finding powers within themselves and in each other. They must succeed because it’s literally a fight for the domain of who will walk this Earth.

The Review

Maverick has come to Wyoming in search of the five men he knows can help him, and whom he can help. He’s a wizard, and the mate to second Alpha shifter Grayson. The shifter pack has run up against many issues, from sickness to losing the magic of the land.

Maverick has come to a tribal festival to find Sky, Jessie, David, James and Tom, recognized by all tribes by the jacket logo they wear. The five men are legends, each with their own powers, but Sky – the Native American – is the most important. He hunts nightmares.  As they go in search of the creature called Teihiihan, Maverick shadows them.

Maverick isn’t alone in seeking out Sky’s pack. His ghost friend and great Shaman, Nodin, is with him too. Nodin had been called upon by Maverick to protect his nephew David.   Sky and his friends notice Nodin but haven’t seen Maverick yet.

Maverick is trying to make amends with his mate Grayson for having left him, but when he hangs up, he finds himself in David’s arms. When everyone is introduced, Maverick is on his way to Santa Fe with the others.

Sky believes the Pack can share the property of the former Sun Canyon pack. Maverick calls Grayson and lets him know, and soon Grayson is on his way to Santa Fe too.

Even as things are looking up with a new home for the Pack, there’s a battle coming that will have to be fought to save the world from the apocalypse.

Thomas stays on course with Torn Curtain, the third book of the “Sky Trilogy” series. It is immersed in Native American lore, with magic, thrilling adventure, action, emotion and suspense.

Who will be willing to join the pack in the battle? Who will betray them? And will Sky finally become what is truly in his soul?

There’s lots more to find out, especially with the backstories of the characters – new and old – in novel.  I’m hoping Thomas will start a spin-off series with some of these newcomers.

As always “Authors Note” is worth reading. I highly recommend starting with Sky and Into The Unknown before jumping into Torn Curtain, the  last book of the “Sky Trilogy”.

This was an entertaining, exciting read with an epic battle, a fitting end to the “Sky Trilogy.”

Hi, I’m Maryann, I started life in New York, moved to New Hampshire and in 1965 uprooted again to Sacramento, California.  Once I retired I moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 2011 and just moved back to Sacramento in March of 2018.  My son, his wife and step-daughter flew out to Florida and we road tripped back so they got to see sights they have never seen.  New Orleans and the Grand Canyon were the highlights. Now I am back on the west coast again to stay! From a young age Ialways liked to read.

I remember going to the library and reading the “Doctor Dolittle” books by Hugh Lofting. Much later on became a big fan of the classics, Edgar Alan Poe, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker and as time went by Agatha Christie, Ray Bradbury and Stephen Kingand many other authors.

My first M/M shifter book I read was written by Jan Irving the “Uncommon Cowboys” series from 2012.  She was the first author I ever contacted and sent an email to letting her know how much I liked this series.  Sometime along the way I read “Zero to the Bone”by Jane Seville, I think just about everyone has read this book!

As it stands right now I’m really into mysteries, grit, gore and “triggers” don’t bother me. But if a blurb piques my interest I will read the book.

My kindle collection eclectic and over three thousand books and my Audible collection is slowly growing.  I have both the kindle and audible apps on my ipod, ipads, and MAC. So there is never an excuse not to be listening or reading.

I joined Goodreads around 2012 and started posting reviews.  One day a wonderful lady, Lisa Horan of The Novel Approach, sent me an email to see if I wanted to join her review group.  Joining her site was such an eye opener.  I got introduce to so many new authors that write for the LGBTQ genre. Needless to say, it was heart breaking when it ended.

But I found a really great site, QRI and it’s right here in Sacramento. Last year at QSAC I actually got to meet Scott Coatsworth, Amy Lane and Jeff Adams.
