About The Book

Dragons are real. They live among us in secret. It could be your neighbor, your boss, or your best friend, and you would never know.

Cameron loves his life on the road. As a truck driver in Canada’s north, he sees majestic mountains, lush valleys and waterfalls that fall hundreds of feet. He couldn’t be happier. Until one day, his rig breaks down in the middle of nowhere and a creature out of mythology comes to his rescue, opening up a world he never knew existed.

A world in which Roark, the High King of the dragons, chooses him for his consort. Or does he?

Heartbroken, Cameron flees from Thunderbird Mountain. He can run, but he can’t hide and must decide if dragons can be a part of his future or not.

This book contains the mention of emotional abuse and trauma, along with sexy dragons, happy endings and an egg, which hatches an adorable baby dragon.

The Review

Cameron Michaels is a truck driver. Four times a week, he passes a rest stop near Thunderbird Mountain, where he always looks up at a rock formation that he likes to imagine is a stone dragon. While he sits at a picnic table eating his lunch, he finds himself relaying his life story to the dragon he has started calling a friend. And aach time, he waves goodbye when he leaves.

Until one day, when his truck breaks down, leaving him with time on his hands until help arrives. Falling asleep at the table, he’s awoken by something sniffing around his neck – surprise, surprise it’s a bear. As if a bear isn’t scary enough, suddenly a dragon appears fighting the bear off. Cameron passes out, and his last thought before hitting the ground was that he would not feel it when the dragon finished with the bear and came to eat him.

He wakes up to discover he was not eaten after all. Instead, he finds himself in a bed, being cared for by a woman who reveals to him that he did not imagine the dragon – dragons are real. In fact, she is the mother of Roark, the High King of dragons. It was Roark who saved him, and took him into the center of Thunderbird Mountain, the home of the dragons.

As Roark shows him around, Cameron discovers more than he could ever have imagined, including shops, restaurants, malls and everything else one could ever want or need.

Cameron has a lot to learn about dragons. They reside everywhere and work in every capacity. He also figures out that Roark has fallen in love with him, and luckily the feeling is mutual. When Roark asks Cameron to be his mate, Cameron doesn’t hesitate for long, and happily agrees.

Everything seems perfect in Cameron’s new life, but there is someone lurking in the background, ready to put an end to his happily ever after.

This is a sweet story, filled with wonderful characters. Cameron is always good for a laugh, and is an immediate hit with most of the humans and dragons he meets, and the story is filled with sex, romance, lies, secrets and surprises.

Four stars.
