About The Book

They do not apologize for a damned thing.

VAN. Revenge for the death of my lover led me west, out of the Appalachian holler where meth-making defined me. I was not that backwoods addict but a clean member of a motorcycle club where violence and mayhem prevailed. My only outlet was cruising the dating apps, and yes, catfishing juicy hunks under a fake profile. Some sleazery just never vanishes. But I was trying.

HUNT. As an astrophysicist and family man, I was seemingly living the good life. But the persona I’d kept hidden for decades insisted on bursting forth. I needed to handle the crazy, so I came out to my wife and children. A heart attack showed me the path, and it led directly to the loving arms of Van Rossi, a down-to-earth fellow hillbilly. His rustic persona brought out the lusty, experimental side of me, and I’d follow him to any jackoff club at the end of the earth.

VAN. Dr. Mountjoy is beyond my redneck reach. I loathe myself for scamming such an upstanding academic—with such upstanding equipment. My stunning archangel has dropped from heaven just for me, and I don’t deserve him. And when the Society’s Baggers come to blast the Bent Zealots MC, Hunt will see the real me. I’m not even brave enough to follow through on my revenge. How can this beautiful saint see anything in me at all? I have my whole life to apologize for, but he doesn’t need to apologize for a fucking thing.

The Review

A Sexy Thing is a steamy romance about two men who came from the same place – one an astrophysicist and one a meth addict and meth maker – whose childhoods started the same but whose lives followed totally different paths. Do opposites really attract?

Van Rossi is a Prospect for the Society’s Bag MC, a club known for their violence and hatred for gays. As a gay man, Van must keep his desires under lock and key – if any of the other members discovered he was gay, it would be a death sentence. He secretly joins a gay dating site called Plugr using the tag SoulWrestler. He begins communicating with another man called StarGazer, whose pictures push all the right buttons, but hen StarGazer stops writing when Van asks for a picture of him without a shirt.

He gets caught by one of the other Prospects, and covers himself by saying he was catfished. One of the leaders, Jackie Daytona suffers from severe back pain, and when he discovers that Van is being “catfished” by a scientist, he sees a chance to get someone to make drugs for him.

Van has another secret too. The SoulWrestler profile he signed up for under the name Claude is a sham – the pictures he used are not really of him. His reason for joining Society’s Bag MC is third secret he’s keeping, one that could be deadly. When he attempts to carry out his mission, it fails and he finds himself running away, with his life hanging in the balance.

He ends up at a fish fry with the Bent Zealots. That’s when he sees the man he hasn’t been able to get out of his mind – Hunt aka StarGazer.

Hunt doesn’t recognize Van since he never saw a real picture of him, but the two have an immediate attraction to one other.

Hunt was married to a woman for twenty years and has two teenage daughters, but when his wife asked him straight out if he preferred men, he was honest about it, and they were heading for an amicable divorce. He had one experience with a man when he was in college, and now is coming out as gay – a whole new experience for him.

Van is happy to introduce him to what it means to love another man, and it doesn’t take long before the two of them only want to be with each other. Unfortunately, Hunt doesn’t know the real Van, and that could bring their relationship to an end.

There is a time when the Prospects must prove themselves – Red Wings night. I don’t want to spoil it, but I can guarantee it is mind blowing.

This book leaves very little to the imagination, both in the violence and in the sex. Four stars.
