About The Book

Denial and Decadence.

The Predicantor’s hatred for the Lady Cassandra intensifies with every setback his Righteous Order of Piety Purists suffer at the hands of her champions. The price on her head grows and his disregard for collateral damage increases.

After a bloody Pietist attempt to overthrow the Abhinav Delhi civic government, the Lady’s slaves employ sabotage, industrial espionage, computer hacking, and other questionable techniques to stop the takeover of the planet Aargine.

Lady Cassandra and Spyder must risk their own lives and those of her other slaves and followers to stop Piety Purists from eradicating two cities and millions of their residents..

A BDSM erotica space opera, Spyder’s Triumph pairs dramatic adventures on worlds light years away in a far-distant future with the age-old battle between purity and pleasure—and those who use one as a weapon against the other.

The Review

This is an excellent, well-written BDSM space fantasy erotica series. These books are absolutely not stand-alones so if you haven’t read the first four in the series, you’ll want to start at the first book and work your way to this fabulous fifth installment.

In Spyder’s Triumph, Lady Cassandra, Spyder, and the other slaves have been working to rid Aargine of the cultists who are destroying the planet’s autonomy, economy, and governments. Lady Cassandra and her slaves have created the Thought Liberation Movement and the resistance has moved forward with their plans to thwart the evilness that is the Righteous Order of Purity Pietiests.

As a result, they have freed many from the virtual enslavement brought to the planet by this cult. There are plenty of fabulous action scenes as the resistance works against the ROoPP and restores power to the citizens of Aargine. And, the author addresses the issues that led to people joining the ROoPP, such as low wages, lack of employment opportunity, as well as food and water shortages.

We also get back to the heart of the BDSM dynamic between Lady Cassandra and her slaves. She has time, though not as much as she’d like, to spend reconnecting with and reinforcing her relationship with her slaves.

While this isn’t a romance series, there are a lot of relationships explored, from those between the Lady and her slaves, to the ones between the slaves themselves, and also with those in the resistance movement who aren’t part of the BDSM dynamics.

One of the things I think the author does so well is express the commitment Lady Cassandra feels toward her slaves, as well as the responsibility she feels for fulfilling their needs, and the pressure she sometimes feels when trying to make decisions for the group as a whole. We also get the occasional peek into the slaves’ desires to serve and be close to Lady Cassandra.

This was another very well-written book by Korin I. Dushayl which included the BDSM dynamics between Lady Cassandra, Spyder, and her other slaves while addressing the very real and current issue of wealthy, influential people using their power to legislate their religious views. And, the frequent hypocrisy behind those views.

Spyder’s Triumph is the fifth book, but I hope not the last we’ll see of Lady Cassandra, Spyder, and the other slaves. I’ve enjoyed all five books, but I would definitely be happy to have another.

I’m an avid reader who loves pretty much all genres except math textbooks. As a kid, my parents exposed me to everything from fairies, hobbits, and dragons to the biographies of interesting people around the world, interspersed with poetry, plays, and music. Into adulthood, I spent a lot of years with my nose buried in various textbooks. Now, I read whatever grabs my fancy.
