The Review
Valentino (Tino) Santini works for the Wolfen company, and while everyone else was able to leave early because of Thanksgiving, Tino’s boss insisted on a report being done, so he has to work late.
Renovations are going on and, finally able to leave, he called for the elevator and found himself face to face with the CEO, Richard Mason. Richard had a violent past and a vicious temper, so Tino is a little scared, and when the elevator stops and the lights go off, he can’t stop shaking.
Stuck with Richard in a dark elevator, Tino is surprised that Richard knows who he is, and before long the two men are naked on the floor, having sex. All night, they wait for help, and when it finally arrives, Richard tells Tino that it will never happen again. All Tino can think about is being fired. Having had sex in a dark elevator with the CEO of the company could not be good for his future. But done is done.
When Tino arrives at work on Monday, he’s told that the CEO wants to see him, is convinced this is his last day at Wolfen. He is so wrong. Richard makes Tino his PA and now he has making an impressive salary, an office and is trying to figure out why he was promoted and what his duties are going to be. Is he Richard’s new in office sex toy? That wouldn’t bother Tino, since sex with him was off the charts, but it would be degrading despite being enjoyable.
Working for Richard is not an easy job. The CEO is moody, demanding and at times nasty, but Tino stands up for himself and begins to earn Richard’s respect. Richard had sait it would never happen again, but it does numerous times. Tino is not just a PA – at times he is a babysitter too, keeping Richard from doing anything that will compromise him, which is not easy.
Tino hears the name Pagan while he and Richard are having sex, so Tino investigates, and what he learns is both a shock and surprise. I won’t reveal it, but it gives the reader a whole new look at the real Richard Mason, and it isn’t pretty. Tino also learns about Frank Mancini aka Richard Mason. Who is Richard, really?
When Richard is in the middle of negotiations to purchase a business, he has no idea the danger he will be putting himself and Tino in. The negotiation will have far reaching ramifications that no one could have foreseen. And a personal situation will also have serious consequences.
This book is filled with sex, I won’t say romance because that is not in Richard’s vocabulary, but there’s lots of suspense, lies, surprises and two amazing characters… and did I mention sex? Although this is the first book in the series, it’s not a cliffhanger. I look forward to following Richard and Tino’s story.
5 Stars.
