The Review

Adam is quite an interesting character – always horny, served in Vietnam, and on the run after murdering an army officer on American soil. He has made himself at home in a cabin in the town of Eden, in Washington State. The cabin once belonged to a friend of his in ‘Nam, Lou, who talked about the cabin and where it was. When he was killed, Adam saw it as the perfect place to keep a very low profile. It’s easy to stay off the radar when you’re living in a town lacking all the amenities we take for granted, even a supermarket.

Since there is no grocery store, getting a turkey for Thanksgiving requires Adam to go hunting for one. Unfortunately, instead he finds a raft covered with a parachute, with a pair of hairy legs sticking out. Nudging the body to find out if he’s alive or not, he finds himself staring at a sexy, hairy man who looks is older than him. Adam suggests that he remove his underwear so Adam can go to town on his body, which he does.

After a round of love making in the afternoon, Adam finally finds out the stranger’s name – Tim. The sex was amazing, and leads to Thanksgiving dinner together, as well as sharing the cabin for a while. Adam and Tim fell in love at first sight, but they both have secrets that could change everything. if those feelings are real, it won’t matter.

Adam is a murderer, and Tim (aka D.B. Cooper) hijacked a plane and parachuted away with a bag holding $200,000. They decide to head for Canada, but while preparing for the long hike, the cabin is attacked by men that Adam and Tim are convinced are the FBI. Which one of them are they after? Fortunately, Adam was smart enough to dig a tunnel under the kitchen floor.

Now, despite having a bag full of money, they have no car, and using that money could put a target on their backs. They’re on the run and having sex constantly, but they’re also trying to get to Canada. During the trip, to Adam discovers secrets about his parents that will forever change things.

They soon discover that they’re also being pursued by the Mafia. If they have any hope for an HEA, they must escape the people who are after them.

I have read many, many MM Romances, but there were a lot of sex scenes for my taste, and because of that I was convinced that 3 stars was all I could give this book – until the second half, where I found myself glued to the story.

D.B. and Me is filled with secrets, surprises, the aftereffects of serving in Nam, and a lot of sex.

Four stars.
