About The Book
Fritz Bronnley lives to keep his men safe and happy. But since his friends have all found their “one”, he’s feeling a bit surplus to requirements.
A driving holiday through the Scottish Highlands sounds like a good remedy for feeling maudlin. Answering an unexpected call for help sounds like an even better one.
But when Fritz ends up rescuing a tough, opinionated cutie who doesn’t know why he’s been kidnapped, and who’s too stubborn to give up, his heart might be in as much danger as Hollis Crewe’s life.

Fritz Bronnley is the rock of White Knight Security. He has always been a leader and advisor in the military, and with the men he served with. Now, as partners in the security business, they all remain best of friends. But Fritz is feeling like he failed with the last case, involving Luca.
Luca, Grant and Rylan have always been by his side. But Fritz has been isolating himself from his team and Rylan, who is sensitive to these things, has picked up on it. He tries to reassure Fritz that he can’t blame himself for Luca’s situation. Fritz tells Rylan he’s fine, and just needs to get away for a few days. He takes a drive through the Scottish Highlands, which goes fine until he pulls alongside a car and sees a fist giving the “help” sign.
Hollis Crewe is a social worker in Glasgow. He’s there to help anyone who needs him. There are low moments – drug overdoses – and high moments, like when someone gets a job. He has to put up with a nasty boss, but he likes his job too much to leave. He’s a busy man. Then someone attacks him, and he finds himself being kidnapped.
When an APB gets reported on Fritz’s car, the White Knight Security is on the job. Luca immediately calls Fritz and lets him know they are on the way. What has control freak Fritz, gotten himself into? Has he met his match?
Fritz is the last story in the “White Knight Security” series. It’s a suspenseful, fast-paced thriller with many surprises in store. Keswick takes readers on a wild ride through Scotland, filling the story with great local details and Scottish words and phrases peppered throughout the story.
The author also mentions the prior cases in the series. Start with Grant, – all four stories are entertaining, quick reads with just the right amount of intimate moments. I highly recommend the entire series.

The “White Knight” series began with book one – Grant – in January 2024. Jackie Keswick was the second new-to-me author this year. I need to check her backlist, because she’s a keeper.
This four book series details the lives of four young men leaving the military. Their friendship and need to do something together led them to forming the White Knight Agency, a private security company, working as investigators for all kinds of safety and help for their community. They live in a large house, split between 4 spacious apartments, with an Office at the center.
Fritz has been the touchstone of the group, the leader of these four men. Grant, Rylan and Luca have each found ‘their one,’ and Fritz is feeling the loneliness in his own life. He decides to take a road trip alone, driving north from London for a getaway.
While driving on a country road and is passing another car, he sees a hand in the back window making the universal sign for Help, I am in trouble.
Hollis Crewe was walking to work thru a side alley entry where he was hit over the head and knocked unconscious. He awoke tied up in the back sat of a strange car. Having a handsome man answer his cry for help was one thing, but he didn’t have any idea why this had happened to him.
Fritz and Hollis are going to report it in the next town when they see the would-be abductor outside the police station, talking to a cop.
Fritz goes into cop mode himself, and Hollis is amazed how competent and assured his rescuer is.
I loved this story… I loved the series… I hope Ms. Keswick returns to the White Knight guys again in the future.
5 stars.
P.S. Keswick has a 5 Book Series I just purchased and started – “The Power of Zero.” Book one Is Job Hunt – Gareth and Jack – it looks wonderful.

Hi, I’m Maryann, I started life in New York, moved to New Hampshire and in 1965 uprooted again to Sacramento, California. Once I retired I moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 2011 and just moved back to Sacramento in March of 2018. My son, his wife and step-daughter flew out to Florida and we road tripped back so they got to see sights they have never seen. New Orleans and the Grand Canyon were the highlights. Now I am back on the west coast again to stay! From a young age Ialways liked to read.
I remember going to the library and reading the “Doctor Dolittle” books by Hugh Lofting. Much later on became a big fan of the classics, Edgar Alan Poe, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker and as time went by Agatha Christie, Ray Bradbury and Stephen Kingand many other authors.
My first M/M shifter book I read was written by Jan Irving the “Uncommon Cowboys” series from 2012. She was the first author I ever contacted and sent an email to letting her know how much I liked this series. Sometime along the way I read “Zero to the Bone”by Jane Seville, I think just about everyone has read this book!
As it stands right now I’m really into mysteries, grit, gore and “triggers” don’t bother me. But if a blurb piques my interest I will read the book.
My kindle collection eclectic and over three thousand books and my Audible collection is slowly growing. I have both the kindle and audible apps on my ipod, ipads, and MAC. So there is never an excuse not to be listening or reading.
I joined Goodreads around 2012 and started posting reviews. One day a wonderful lady, Lisa Horan of The Novel Approach, sent me an email to see if I wanted to join her review group. Joining her site was such an eye opener. I got introduce to so many new authors that write for the LGBTQ genre. Needless to say, it was heart breaking when it ended.
But I found a really great site, QRI and it’s right here in Sacramento. Last year at QSAC I actually got to meet Scott Coatsworth, Amy Lane and Jeff Adams.
