About The Book

DOOM HAS FINALLY FOUND HUMANITY. One by one, worlds are falling silent across human space–a nameless scourge clawing at them from the shadows as it attempts to topple thousands of years of peace and prosperity…

AUREN has always been a survivor. Growing up in the slums of Obila, he’d learned precisely one thing: trust no one. So when the enemy drop pods began to fall from the heavens, he’d done what he’d always done: survive. Except the bargain he’d had to make to do so was certain to cost him far more than his honor. When he woke up in his new body, he would have never guessed how harrowing his life was about to become. Join his nonstop battle to reclaim his humanity while he outruns an even more sinister shadow…

LUPO was betrayed. If it hadn’t been for his ex, Bartie, he would have never wound up as a disembodied consciousness in the first place. He’d died three times. Years had passed. And then, at long last, another had been decanted on the resurrection ship, and Lupo finally saw a pathway toward the vengeance he demanded. Follow his heart-pounding story as he sets out on a twisted journey of redemption and retribution. Learn to love again as he comes to terms with his traumatic past. But growth isn’t easy, and with more threats piling up with every passing moment, Lupo is destined for hard times ahead…

Set amidst the backdrop of galactic invasion, “Future Love Affair” is the first installment of a wild and gripping M/M Sci-Fi Romance that finds its unlikely protagonists swept away by events far bigger than themselves. Fight your way off a pirate battle cruiser, survive an alien invasion, and make new friends and terrifying enemies while you’re flung across the galaxy. From holo-bike racing through the understory of a city world to avoiding orbital obliteration from an invading space fleet, you’ll be swept away by a story that doesn’t let up.

Fall in Love.
Get revenge.
Survive.

The Review

War is raging between humans and aliens, and Auren has been recruited to Vesperion to join the fight. When it becomes obvious that the humans are not going to win, he has two choices – fight or flight – and since he is not a hero, he chooses flight. Auren makes it out alive – I won’t reveal how. It is something that must be read. I will reveal that he is no longer fully human, but an android.

He finds himself a prisoner on a pirate ship and is saved by another prisoner named Lupo. Although he’s unsure whether to trusts Lupo, accompanying him is a no brainer. Stealing a ship, the two take off for Lupo’s home planet, Thestle. Lupo was betrayed by the man he loved, Bartie, and now all he wants is revenge.

Little by little, Auren begins to trust Lupo and is happy to follow him. While investigating the ship, Auren discovers a cryopod with someone in it, and although Lupo wants to be cautious, Auren frees the person inside. It’s a mistake that Auren realizes immediately upon seeing who is in the cryopod – a Keth, the aliens that are destroying the human race.

The Keth is named Ophion. He’s reptilian, and although he refers to Lupo and Auren as abominations, he does not attack them. Ophion becomes a part of the crew, and Auren and Lupo treat him with respect and kindness. Ophion was also a prisoner of the Pirate King. He lost his two bonded mates, was tortured and put into the cryopod.

Now the adventure begins with the search for Bartie, but it will prove to be dangerous. The Pirate King’s battle cruiser catches up with them, and once again they are all in the hands of the beast responsible for their torture. He’s a spidery cyborg with a human head. Lupo, Auren and Ophion are not going down without a fight

Searching for Bartie and staying one step ahead of the Keth are only a small portion of the dangerous situations the three find themselves in, and there is more trouble ahead for them in books two and three.

Future Love Affair is filled with suspense, romance, violence, as well as some wonderful main characters. I read the book in one sitting, and although there were times, I didn’t understand everything it didn’t distract from my enjoyment of the overall story.

4 stars.
