About The Book

After learning his mother is alive, Cameron, a telepath, travels across the country to find her, accompanied by Nathen, his neurodiverse vampire lover, and Syn, his best friend and sister of the heart. Once there, they find she is involved in a much larger war of her own and has been trying to keep him out of harm’s way for years.

In their quest to help her, they make enemies, of course, but they also find several new allies. And when they are swept up in fae politics and looming war, the result is an entire paradigm shift that will have far-reaching effects on all their lives forever.

The Review

Cam, Syn and Nathen’s story continues after another successful mission. Kat was rescued and everything was going well, until HR from Impetus called with a special offer for Cam. He wants him to be the new Junior Director of Threat Management, with a two-year contract.

To ensure Cam accepts, he reveals that his mother is alive, and will tell him everything once the contract is signed.

After signing the contract, Cam is shown videos of his mother. She has not contacted him in over ten years, since the day he saw her murdered by arachnoid fae. He immediately calls her and is told to stay away because it’s too dangerous, but her plea falls on deaf ears. He couldn’t stay away if his life depended on it. And it just might.

Finally getting to hug his mother after so long, he realizes that Syn has also been grieving all those years. His mother was her mother as well, at least in her heart. When it is revealed what the danger is and how his mother survived, all their lives are turned upside down. She was saved by elemental fae, and promised to help them in their war against the arachnoid fae. She didn’t want Cam to be involved for fear of him getting hurt or dying, but he assures her that he, Syn and Nathen are there to help anyway they can.

Every time a cluster of the arachnoid fae are killed, more just show up, and there seems to be no way to get ahead of them. Cam suggests that killing the queen might stop them. Now is the time to research things and lay out a plan. While doing that, Cam makes love to Nathen on the balcony, believing that they won’t be seen by anyone. But they are.

Another vampire shows up, having witnessed the pornographic exhibition, and before you know it, they are all together in bed. August has been a vampire for hundreds of years, and now lives in a coven with his lover, mentor and creator. Since meeting Cam and Nathen, he realizes it is time for him to move on from the coven and is ready, willing and able to help them destroy the arachnoid fae.

So much happens to all of them, but I will only touch on a little of it. Cam, Nathen and August meet the fae, who are thankful for their help in stopping the Arachnoids. Dealing with the fae is interesting, but Nathen feels at home and Cam won’t leave him. August willingly accepts what the fae offer, and the three of them face major changes in their lives.

Entwined is full of secrets, surprises, explicit sex, and much more, and ends in a cliffhanger. There are so many questions unanswered – hopefully I won’t have to wait too long for book 4.

5 stars.
