The Review
Bryce Maxwell and Connor Hughs are both shifters who have spent ten years apart while Bryce fulfilled his dream of being a hockey star. Connor decided to let him go rather than hold him back.
Now an injury has caused Bryce to return home to Valleywood, with the hope of reuniting with the man he has never stopped loving. Bryce realizes that Connor and he are fated mates. Since Bryce left before the age of maturity, he had no way of knowing Connor was his one and only.
Bryce refuses to give up on mating Connor, but Connor is afraid of opening his heart again, if and when Bryce returns to hockey. Connor also realizes that Bryce is his mate, but fear is standing in his way. What if Bryce leaves him again with a broken heart? He isn’t sure it will ever mend.
Bryce, however, has no intention of leaving. He knows that Valleywood is where he belongs with his mate, but he will have to gain Connor’s trust. He will do whatever it takes.
I was unfamiliar with the Valleywood series, but am happy to have had a chance to become acquainted with it. A sweet story.

I am an avid reader the mother of 3 sons and grandmother to seven grandchildren. Since retiring I have been doing more reading while volunteering as a CASA worker. CASA is an organization that works with the family court system to ensure that children are in the best living situation. There are way too many children that get overlooked in the foster care system and I visit homes and make visits to the parents.
