Niko doesn’t hate the holidays; that would require too much commitment. He just doesn’t care about them anymore. He’s a demi, disillusioned mess and he doesn’t care about much at all. That is, until an enticing stranger blows into his life this Christmas and catches his attention—and his heart.

Review:
“Human belief was a fickle and fluid thing.”
I found “Something to Celebrate” to be poetic and beautiful.
Niko doesn’t celebrate holidays. He doesn’t feel as though he has a place to belong. My heart ached for him and I found myself hoping Fan would be just what Nikos’ soul needed.
Fan, though a winter spirit, has many human desires that it was easy to relate to them.
“Humans were never alone. Always touching and holding and loving each other. So solid and warm and sensual. Fan wanted that. They wanted that so badly.”
For a short and sweet story, everyday activities were told with such detail it was like watching a beautiful painting come to life, captivating me from the very start. Making it easy to fall in love with Niko and Fan. Their identities and sexualities were not thrown around lightly.
They both have unique qualities making them different, yet they both longed to find that one who would accept them, truly see them, and love them for who they are. This is where I felt I could relate to the characters and why I was easily drawn in.
I absolutely loved Niko and Fan and felt a real connection to both characters for different reasons. I just hope the author knows how truly grateful I am to have shared in this story. Niko and Fan just want what most humans, including myself, want when we find our mate and the beauty of the truth in this story really touched my heart.
