Christmas used to be a time of joy for me, but since my mother's death three years ago the holiday has lost all meaning, becoming nothing but a harsh reminder of what I've lost. I've become bitter and skeptical of everyone around me, and the cold aloofness has kept me from being hurt that deeply again. But this year the thought of yet another blue Christmas alone sends me on a path that will change my life forever. Trigger Warning: Attempted suicide.

Blue Christmas by author J.R. Loveless I found this to be a beautiful touching love story. I am not usually a huge fan of Christmas stories but this one is just timeless and beautiful.
Patrick, he is a complicated character with many layers. He feels so alone, walled off, and untouchable. He is a very complicated character that I really wanted to have him find love. I was cheering for him all the way through this story.
Carter, hum is he a hero who saves Patrick or more? He seems to be an easy going sunny personality type of person. But is he really? I loved his layers. He is one of those characters you have read about and discover as you go. If you are like me you might just be surprised by him.
Overall I loved this story. Nothing is what I expected, many twists and turns. Not your typical holiday story. But a more gritty and real one that I will not forget anytime soon.
