Mikka and Nyx have known they were hyena mates for years. Due to circumstance they could never claim each other. When Mikka comes up missing, Nyx does everything he can to find his mate only to come up empty every time. When Mikka is returned, can Nyx get Mikka to believe that he still loves him and is still the alpha Nyx always knew him to be or will Mikka turn him away and leave him forever?

Excerpt:

Nyx wasn’t happy when he entered the cackle house. His mate was being held in an underground prison somewhere on Whitewing or Thornridge cackle lands going through gods knew what and still Or and his inner circle had no idea where or how to find out.
If Nyx had his way he’d just go in and fight his way through the cackles one by one if necessary and Nyx had thought that’s what they would do but then their own cackle was attacked and Or discovered his guards were not as prepared for a fight as he thought. Hell had it not been for the Dirge cackle Or could have lost his land and cackle that depended on him to keep them all safe.
Thankfully the leader of the Dirge cackle, Louise, had agreed to train men in the Trident cackle and although they were getting there, even Nyx recognized they weren’t quite there yet. However, that didn’t make his own urgency to go in and get Mikka make him want to demand action. That wouldn

t be a good plan, considering he had only pledged his allegiance to Or ten days ago.
Looking down at the ring on his hand, Nyx remembered the day Mikka had given it to him. It was a special day. One year from the moment they had first met and knew who they were to each other.
Nyx arrived at his and Mikka’s special spot in the forest, drinking heavily from the small lake as he waited for the love of his life to arrive. He knew it could take some time for Mikka to get away from his bitch of a mother, but Nyx would wait for Mikka forever if only to be with his mate for a moment.
He couldn’t wait to tell him that he overheard Lenox talking to Patrice and he was being transferred to Thornridge soon to join her guard. He told Patrice it was in good faith, but Nyx knew it was because Lenox had noticed how strong Nyx was getting and soon he could challenge him for the alpha position. It would be sad to be forced to leave his sister behind, but the thought that he and Mikka could finally be together was all Nyx could think about.
Hearing a rustling sound, Nyx lifted his head, sniffing the air to make sure it was Mikka and not one of Patrice’s men. Even though he was technically still on Whitewing lands that didn’t mean that one of the Thornridge guards couldn’t say he was on Thornridge land and try and kill him.
Mikka stepped out of the brush, in his human form, naked. “Have I ever told you how beautiful you are in your hyena form?”
Nyx couldn’t take his eyes off of Or’s naked body. The man was simply breathtaking. At six foot five and two hundred twenty pounds they were the same. However, where Nyx in human as well as Omega form had white hair, Mikka had the most beautiful shoulder length black hair. Nyx loved running his fingers through those silky strands looking into his mesmerizing green eyes wishing and hoping that one day their lives wouldn’t be so difficult and they could remain together always as mates should be able to.
“I see your sadness in your eyes, mate and it hurts my heart. I promise you, one day we will be together and all will know that you belong to me as much as I belong to you. Now shift, I have a gift I would love to give my mate, but I want to look into those gorgeous pale blue eyes as I view your delectable body.” Mikka insisted.
Not wasting another minute, Nyx shifted and stood tall, “You’re late.”
Mikka tossed his head back, laughing, “I’m right on time and you know it.”

Love this book, but a lot of inconsistencies, in particular early in the book it said Nyx was an omega, at another spot it said he was a spirit healer, yet towards the end when he was told he was a spirit omega he was totally shocked about being an omega much less a spirit omega.
The other thing that bugs me is that I wish more research had been done on the animal the characters shifted into.
It was said that Patrice couldn’t take over the pack because she was a female and therefor weaker than males, at another spot it said for anyone who didn’t thing female hyenas could fight well hadn’t seen Patrice fight.
Hyena females lead the pack, not males and in fact all female have a pseudopenis meaning males are very much at a disadvantage while mating, the female decides who gets to mate with her.
Females are very powerful fighters.
Sorry, this just bugs me....
But even so, a very good book

About the Author

I was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky. I’m a military brat that travelled a bit overseas and throughout many parts of the United States. I finally settled in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where I eventually got married and then divorced. I was blessed with two fantastic sons. As they grew up and became young men chasing their dreams. I felt that maybe now was the time for me to do the same. That’s when I started writing. Never in a million years did I expect to meet the most wonderful man in the world, move to Quebec, Canada, and get married. However, that is exactly what happened. JP has introduced me to things like; canoeing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, and has taken me to some of the most beautiful locations. Ones that I had only ever seen on a computer or read about in books. I may miss my mountains and my boys, but have discovered that when you work towards your dreams, the future can be one filled with happiness and love. My boys are only a plane ride away, and Skype is a glorious thing. So I say, on to my next adventure…don’t be shocked to find it in one of my books.
