Byron Hollingsworth was an emotional wreck and after ranting at his younger brother Samuel, and calling his brother's impending offspring an abomination, now everyone else knew how unstable Byron was too. It’s not as though he hadn’t tried to be the perfect son, brother, and cousin. He tried to keep his affliction hidden from others. But the painful truth was now out for everyone to see – Byron ached for the mate he’d seen once more than ten years before and that loss had affected every area of his life. And then, just when he thought things couldn’t get any worse, someone delivers a package to Byron’s house that changes the course of his entire life.

Ivak Sellivik, bastard son of the Ice Dragon King, was known as “Ice” for good reason. Heartless, ruthless, and dangerous, he traveled the world, focusing on the important things in life like making money and ridding the world of paranormal criminals. He knew he had a fated mate – he’d even seen him once. However, meeting his fated mate face to face was something he could do after he retired, and he told himself he was happy to wait until then. That was, until he gets a frantic call from his brother.

Sometimes plans need to be flexible and a person has to understand that wants and needs are two different things. When Byron gets taken, Ice must decide if he wants a mate in his life at all, or risk losing his forever. But he has to decide quickly, because his enemies are closing in on all sides, and Byron’s not the only one in their sights. Throw in a summons from the Ice Dragon King and things get really hectic. Will Ice and Byron have time for an HEA, even if they do decide to try for one together?

Dragon’s Tears is an MM fated mates, mpreg story that includes scenes of violence and intimate acts intended for adults only.

Byron: “I’m trying to find our mate. I’ve told you that a hundred times. Don’t you think I want to find him too?”

His dragon: No. I don’t.

“Did anyone stop and ask me if I was upset? For fuck’s sake... Sammy was unhappy. I felt it the moment I went in the building. He even snuck out of the coven with his cousins just so he could have a reprieve from his mate. What does that tell you? So, when I finally did get to speak to him and he told me about the baby, I might have overreacted. But for fuck’s sake, you could have spent two seconds asking me why I said what I did before you tore into me on my return.”

“I just wanted to belong somewhere and have something for me. Something I controlled, not my dragon, or the company, or my father, or anyone. Just me and this place was it... and now it’s ruined, spoiled, and I don’t know why or by who. I don’t understand any of this!”

Who are you? What on earth did I do to you?

"...To me, my path was already set in stone. Marry a dragon and have dragon babies. I couldn’t let my father or the clan down by taking up with a sexy piece of ass, even if I believed in that moment, I could see forever in him. More to the point, where were you and why didn’t you tell me he could be our mate?”

His dragon looked away, twisting his neck so he was looking at the sky. “I was here, sulking.”

“Sulking?” Byron wished his dragon would look at him. He wasn’t adept at understanding dragon body language.

“Sulking.”

“You’re going to think I’m a foolish dragon but ten years and four months ago I did spot a man in a crowded bar in another state. I only saw him briefly, I didn’t scent him, and unfortunately, I couldn’t stay to get to know him. But I wondered then if he was my mate, even before I knew I could have one. I’ve never stopped thinking about him. The man I asked out five years later, had a passing resemblance to that stranger, and… I guess I was at a very lonely place in my life right then. But the refusal was a good thing for me. There’s nothing worse than being entangled with someone else when your mate shows up, so I’ve chosen to have no intimate relations with anyone at all since that time. I want to be someone he can be proud of when we finally cross paths again.”

“Byron could be dead by then. You remember, Byron, don’t you? Tall, lovely shoulders, long neck, slim waist and an ass worth worshipping. Has black hair and moody pale green eyes that can see right through anyone’s bullshit. Smells better than a million bucks. The one the fates decreed was your mate. He will die!”

“Someone really does want you dead.”

“They’ll be shit out of luck today.”

“A man like you does not beg. Not now, not ever, and especially not to the bastard in this mating. Yes, I said bastard,” he added as Byron’s eyes widened. “Bastard by heritage and by nature, and it’s rare you’ll find me apologizing for it. But you – you have the strength and courage of a thousand warriors. You’ve withstood rejection, and emotional pain harsh enough to kill a hundred men, and you’ve stood tall throughout. So, don’t you dare let me hear you beg for anything from me, when it’s me who should be asking you to ‘want me’, especially after the hurt I caused you.”

Byron’ blinked and then the corner of his mouth twitched. “No, please?”

“I don’t beg either.”

“On my word, I will never leave you again. Whatever comes for us, we face together.”
