About The Book
My new financial guardian, Mathias, is a cold, self-centered, rude-ass Alpha and the son of one of the wealthiest men in the country. To him, I am a burden on society, only fit to live on a chattel farm.
It doesn’t matter that I’m drawn to him, to his ominous presence and chiseled jaw, his muscular body in his fitted silk suits. I’m a single dad with kids and responsibilities –I don’t have time for that rich bastard.
He keeps coming by the house so I can sign documents, fine. But then he’s got cute gifts for my kids. It’s got to stop. I don’t have time to fix him. Don’t have time to fall in love with an Alpha right now.
A non-shifter Alpha/Omega love story with mpreg, a single widower Omega dad, an Alpha who cannot knot, emotional issues, two adorable identical twin boys, and an HEA.
Some characters from “Trust No Alpha” make appearances in this novel, however, this book is a standalone read.
The Review
If you like me read book one, Trust No Alpha, then you came away hating Mathias Vandergate and his father. Kris the favorite son was classified as Omega, locked away by his father and almost raped by him. Mathias cursed him and blamed him for their father’s actions. Now we have Mathias’ story and I began reading it with huge dislike for him a dislike that slowly began to change into like.
Mathias still went to the Omega chattel farms when he went through the burn, having meaningless sex just to ease his burn. He has never knotted a sign of a true Alpha but wearing a cock ring made that less noticable to the men he had sex with. Everything changed for him the day a friend begged him to take over as a Financial Guardian for an Omega whose Alpha had just died. The Omega has twin boys, one an Alpha and one an Omega and is pregnant with another set of twins. As an Omega he has no right to access the money his Alpha left him and can only access them through an Alpha Financial Guardian.
Mathias met with Saber Vomar and their first meeting did not go well. When Mathias suggested that Saber send his son Tybor to a a chattel farm to learn how to be an Omega and serve Alphas, Saber had to do everything in his power not to reach across the desk and beat this obnoxious, spoiled, rich man who because of his station in life and being an Alpha gave him all the power an Omega lacked.
Over time Mathias visited Saber usually with the excuse of paperwork but there was no denying that he was feeling something he never felt before for anyone. He began to feel guilt over his treatment of his brother Kris but not being able to knot kept him from fully reaching for a mate bond with Saber. Even Mathias’s actions towards the twins changed, letting them hug him and bringing them gifts.
This series takes place in a world where no woman exist and Omegas do everything a woman would, have children, cleaning and caring for the home with one exception, one very huge exception, Omega’s are more like slaves with no rights making their world a very difficult place.
If you have read this series then you know that each book is a standalone and takes us into the lives of an Alpha and an Omega in this book a widowed Omega with twins and pregnant with two more. This is a book where there is no shifting, just a world without women and with a very class divided system.
