A Delingpole Mystery
by
There’s a murderer stalking the gay bars of Berlin.
It’s September, the time of Folsom Europe, the city’s annual festival for gay men in leather.
And Berlin’s become a dangerous place for them.
British lawyer, and part-time sleuth, Dominic Delingpole is in town. He’s come to Berlin to visit Matty, the teenage son he first met only a year ago.
When Matty is arrested for the attacks, Dominic teams up with German lawyer Johann Hartmann, a good-looking man with a seductive charm.
As they battle to prove Matty’s innocence, Dominic and Johann discover the attacks are linked to a sinister, Russian-backed experiment.
But whose side is Hartmann really on?

DOMINIC LED Johann down the long, unlit corridor that led to his bedroom. He had the strangest mix of emotions churning in his head.
On the one hand he was elated and excited that a man like Johann was so interested in him. Interested enough to want to have sex with him. But it had been over a year since Dominic and his late husband had made love. He felt nervous and apprehensive at the prospect. It was almost like it was his very first time all over again.
And it worried him.
What if he failed to perform? What if he was unable to satisfy Johann? What if Johann was unable to satisfy him? Dominic doubted the latter would be the case. His cock was rock hard at the prospect of being intimate with the sexy German. More likely was the risk that Dominic would cum in the first thirty seconds, and it would all be over in a fountain of long-suppressed semen.
READ MOREDominic thought back to the very first time he had ever had sex with a man.
It was also the first time he had visited Berlin. The man had been Bernhardt Freude. The man whose grave he had visited only a few days ago. Dominic remembered every detail of that first night in Bernhardt’s apartment as if it was yesterday. Bernhardt had been patient with Dominic’s virginity. Patient with his very obvious first-night nerves.
“No need to rush things,” Bernhardt had said as Dominic had begun thrusting like the pistons of a runaway steam train. “Slow it down. Vary the pace. Bring yourself to the edge of orgasm and then pull back. That way, you prolong the pleasure. For both of us.”
In the sixteen days Dominic had stayed at Bernhardt’s loft apartment in Schöneberg, he had learned a great deal about pleasure. Bernhardt had revealed to him the sensuous regions of his body he had never known about before. He had learned the joy of giving sexual pleasure to another person. He had discovered the thrill of spending an entire afternoon in bed together. Of enjoying mutual, hedonistic pleasure while the rest of the world beyond the bedroom door scurried about pursuing matters of exaggerated importance.
But that had been twenty years ago.
Dominic stopped at the door at the end of the corridor. “What’s the matter?” Johann asked.
“Nothing.” Dominic smiled. “I guess. Really. Everything’s good.”
“Is this what you want?”
“Oh, yes.” Dominic ran his hand over Johann’s chest. “It’s what I want. More than anything right now.” He smiled again. “I’m just...strangely—”
“Nervous?”
Dominic nodded.
Johann lifted Dominic’s hand from his chest. He raised it to his cheek and kissed the palm. “Don’t be nervous,” he whispered. “I’ll start by giving you a massage. It’ll relax you. Do you have any oils?”
“I don’t,” replied Dominic. “They’re not top of my packing list.”
“You should.”
Johann released Dominic’s hand and pushed steadily against his chest. They moved back into the bedroom and Dominic felt the edge of the bed against his calves. Johann held on to the waistband of Dominic’s chinos and reached behind him. He dragged the duvet from the bed and discarded it on the floor. Dominic placed his hands behind Johann’s head and attempted to pull him towards him. But Johann resisted.
“Don’t do anything,” he said. “Relax.”
He unbuttoned Dominic’s shirt and slipped it from his shoulders. He kneeled down, unbuttoned the fly of Dominic’s chinos, and slipped his hands inside his briefs. As he tugged them down, Dominic’s cock stood erect like an old-fashioned railway signal. Johann leaned forward and licked the tip.
“Precum.” Johann looked up at Dominic. “You do want this, don’t you?”
