The Christmas Accomplice

by Hank Edwards

A vacation mix up.

A job promotion on the line.

A fateful roll of the dice.

Welton Monroe is on his first vacation in a very long time. He’s not a winter sport enthusiast, but the cozy cabin at the Snowcapped resort, and Reece Donaghy, the hunky employee who checks him in, seem perfect to finally put his relationship with Dean in the past. That is, until Dean arrives. In an effort to make up for past wrongs, Dean offers to help Welton win Reece’s heart, an offer Welton grudgingly accepts.

Reece should be focusing on the Assistant Activities Director promotion he’s put in for, but he’s more than distracted by Welton. In a whirlwind week of activities, Welton and Reece discover the Christmas magic in snowman building, karaoke, and tobogganing. But when the secret Welton has been keeping comes to light, and a final, large-scale challenge is assigned to Reece for his chance to win the promotion, it seems a week’s worth of Christmas spirit may not be enough to keep them together once the holiday is over.

Welton gave a quiet cry of triumph and stood up, brandishing one of the cables. “I think I found it.”

Reece’s smile made Welton’s heart pound. “You’re like the best claw machine in the history of the world.”

“I don’t know about ‘the best’ claw machine.” Welton held out his hand. “Music player please.”

Reece fished the device out of his front pants pocket and placed it in Welton’s palm. It was warm, and Welton started to harden at the thought of it snugged up against Reece’s cock and balls. To distract himself, he strode toward the plugs in the wall behind the dance area, fingers curled tight around the plastic casing. He absolutely was not envisioning his fingers holding tight to Reece’s cock instead. Nope, not even a little bit.

In short order, he located a series of plugs and a dial behind one of the small doors in the wall that looked to be dedicated to the sound system. Welton connected the music player and stood up. The cable was ten feet, so he was able to hand it over to Reece. “Find something to play and test it out.”

Reece stood close beside him, his body heat and smell of shampoo and deodorant comforting and more than a little distracting as he scrolled through the options.

“I made a playlist of popular Christmas songs. Here it is. Let me find the perfect song to mark this occasion.” Reece tapped on a song and “Jingle Bells” began to blare.

“Turn down the volume on the player!” Welton shouted over the music.

After Reece dialed it down, the song played at a more comfortable level, and they smiled at each other.

“You saved me,” Reece said. He set the music player on the floor by the wall, then gestured toward the dance floor and raised his eyebrows.

“What?” Welton took a step back from the dance floor. “Oh, no. I don’t dance.”

“Come on. No one’s watching.”

“You planning to leave the room?”

Reece feigned being wounded with a hand to his chest. “I thought we were friends.”

“Well, we are. Which is why I won’t subject you to my poor dancing skills.”

“Surely you can do something simple. I’m no expert dancer either. See?”

Reece moved out on the dance floor, faced Welton and, with a big, goofy smile, began to slowly swing his arms side to side, ducking one behind him at alternate times. Welton laughed and shook his head.

“Okay, so you’re coordinated enough to do a very slow version of the Floss. I applaud you.” Welton gave him several slow claps.

“I’ll teach you how,” Reece said, still Flossing and smiling. “Come on. Stand next to me.”

Welton looked toward the door to make sure it was closed and no one had snuck in while he’d been distracted. He really didn’t want to do this, but he really, really didn’t want not to do this.

Knowing deep inside he was going to regret it, Welton stood next to Reece. He watched Reece’s movements and tried to copy him. It felt ridiculous at first, but after a time Welton’s arms seemed to get the idea, and he was able to increase his speed.

“Look at you go,” Reece said. “You’re a natural Flosser.”

“My dentist would be so proud.”
