The Review
The personal history in the journal of the Grandi Capi tells of truce between the Stagliano Family of Italy and those who ran “The States.” The families agreed to make Las Vegas a neutral territory, with no politics or wars. Until one tragic day during the centennial celebration of that peace treaty.
Nicola Valenti’s brother Enzo was an enforcer for the Stagliano Family. When the bombing at Caesars took place, he was declared dead, along with many others. But then Nicola heard rumors that his brother was still alive. He hasn’t been able to find Enzo, and has been tracking down those who he believes are responsible. His thinks the guilty agent is a member of the Assassin’s Guild.
The Grand Capo Stagliano, Don Athos, no longer wants Nicola to pursue this hunt for Enzo. For generations, Nicola’s family had worked for the Staglianos, and grew up in the estate. Nicola often thought of Athos as an uncle.
Nicola tells Athos that he has one last idea for how to find out who killed Enzo. Nicola will put his life on the line for it. As dangerous as the plan is, Athos agrees to it.
Athos makes a contract for the Assassin’s Guild to plant a bomb at Caesars, but Aleksei doesn’t buy it. Aleksei makes his own demands, but he has a plan up his sleeve, and it will involve Jasir (aka Mr Ti).
Jasir has been staying at headquarters in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He’s an expert sharpshooter, and tries to keep his surly reputation in check. But he still feels guilty after the last assignment, when he almost killed Connor. He spends much of his time alone, and likes being anonymous with the online gaming and new friends he’s made there. One friend in particular that makes him curious is a user known only to him as SBD15.
But now the fun is over. He has a new assignment that will take him to Las Vegas to hunt down the Poacher, Nicola Valenti. With what Jasir is about to discover, all hell will break loose as he attempts to get the hell out of town!
I’ve read all three previous books in the “Assassin’s Guild” series, and T.A.G. You’re Found is the best so far – it’s exceptionally good. The historical tale of how the Mafia Families came to the decision to make Las Vegas neutral territory is very interesting, and I wonder if there’s more to it. Although I have no experience with online cyber gaming, it was presented very well and was easy to imagine.
I really liked the fast paced action, danger and the hair raising car chase with bullets flying. Carothers brings fun and banter and some very steamy moments to the story.
Besides the hot couple, Nicola and Jasir, there are some other new characters that pop up from another series. Vincent and Anthony DeMarco from Dragon’s Hoard are quite mysterious. And Matt and Xander from the “Dragon War Chronicles” make an appearance too.
I was thoroughly entertained by this one – well done. I wonder if there will be more to come from the “Assassin’s Guild”?

Hi, I’m Maryann, I started life in New York, moved to New Hampshire and in 1965 uprooted again to Sacramento, California. Once I retired I moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 2011 and just moved back to Sacramento in March of 2018. My son, his wife and step-daughter flew out to Florida and we road tripped back so they got to see sights they have never seen. New Orleans and the Grand Canyon were the highlights. Now I am back on the west coast again to stay! From a young age Ialways liked to read.
I remember going to the library and reading the “Doctor Dolittle” books by Hugh Lofting. Much later on became a big fan of the classics, Edgar Alan Poe, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker and as time went by Agatha Christie, Ray Bradbury and Stephen Kingand many other authors.
My first M/M shifter book I read was written by Jan Irving the “Uncommon Cowboys” series from 2012. She was the first author I ever contacted and sent an email to letting her know how much I liked this series. Sometime along the way I read “Zero to the Bone”by Jane Seville, I think just about everyone has read this book!
As it stands right now I’m really into mysteries, grit, gore and “triggers” don’t bother me. But if a blurb piques my interest I will read the book.
My kindle collection eclectic and over three thousand books and my Audible collection is slowly growing. I have both the kindle and audible apps on my ipod, ipads, and MAC. So there is never an excuse not to be listening or reading.
I joined Goodreads around 2012 and started posting reviews. One day a wonderful lady, Lisa Horan of The Novel Approach, sent me an email to see if I wanted to join her review group. Joining her site was such an eye opener. I got introduce to so many new authors that write for the LGBTQ genre. Needless to say, it was heart breaking when it ended.
But I found a really great site, QRI and it’s right here in Sacramento. Last year at QSAC I actually got to meet Scott Coatsworth, Amy Lane and Jeff Adams.
