Looking at these long boring contracts was not keeping my mind occupied. I’d dimmed my lights, except the lamp focusing on my work area, trying to boost my concentration. Software licensing was probably the most mind-numbing issue I had to deal with—ever.

I stuck my fingers under my reading glasses and rubbed my eyes. With them closed, two horrible visions came to mind. I couldn’t decide which was worse. The lines and lines of monotonous text from the contracts or Chris’s sly face in that picture of him with Afterglow’s owner, Braxton. And I’d loved going to Afterglow, the best BDSM club in the area. The cheating bastards. Ruining everything.

With a sigh, I picked up the paper in front of me again, but I could no longer focus on the words. I’d suspected Chris was cheating for a while now and had to know for sure. The only thing I could do was call Al. So, I’d done exactly that.
