About The Book
Grant Keeping lives for action. He hates close protection jobs filled with grumpy clients and long, boring days. Then trauma surgeon Spencer Corel – a man who relies on order, control, and cake to manage his busy life – hires White Knight Security to find the man stalking him, and suddenly Grant has a client who pushes all his buttons and no time to be bored.
Despite escalating attacks, Grant is confident that he can find the stalker and protect Spencer, but can he protect his own heart?
The Review
White Knight Security is open for business. With the help of Amelie Croft and their first unofficial case, Fritz Bronnley was able to acquire a grant and some clients. His three partners, Grant Keeping, Rylan Jeffers and Luca Birch, are ready to work on a variety of cases.
Grant Keeping is bored. He needs something more than just being a body guard/babysitter for business men. Luckily, Fritz has a new case and client for him, but when Fritz passes along the file, Grant is overwhelmed by the clients photo.
The top trauma surgeon at Stoke Mandeville – Dr. Spencer Corel – feels like he’s being stalked. He sits down with Fritz and fills him in. He’s even gone to the police, but they made him feel uncomfortable and ignored the situation. And his ex Carlo Sigismund’s half-brother is a cop.
Grant will have to get comfortable with Spencer, who has no problem welcoming Grant into his home, or doing anything that he requires. Grant settles in quickly, and is with Spencer twenty-four/seven, but things don’t go completely smoothly.
The stalker is still creating dangerous situations for Spencer and Grant. After the first incident in Spencer’s home, Grant feels guilty, thinking he hasn’t done his job properly. But Fritz is a man of means, and he reminds Grant that the partners always have each others’ backs. As Grant spends more time with Spencer, his nerves are get rattled. He’s itching for his usual outlet – going for a run – but he’s committed to watching over Spencer.
There’s a definite growing chemistry between Grant and Spencer, and soon it’s ready to explode. Grant decides it’s best to have Spencer stay at Knightdale Court. What danger is Spencer really in? And will Grant be able to see his way clear, with the help of Rylan’s advice?
Jackie Keswick doesn’t miss a beat with Grant, the first book in the new “White Knight Security” series. It’s an easy, quick read, but it’s still fast paced, filled with action, danger and lots of intimate moments. Even though the story is short, the author makes each character interesting.
I liked Grant, and he certainly meets his match with Spencer. Grant may be a dominant man, but Spencer is just as strong. I liked how Grant took over when he saw that Rylan was suffering. These former military men think they are invincible, but Spencer surely opens their eyes.
There’s also a great friendship between Grant, Ryan and Luca. They always have time for humor and banter. Fritz was their Captain in the military and he still keeps things under control.
Grant is an entertaining and exciting first book in the “White Knight Security” series. I’m excited to find out what Jackie Keswick has planned for Rylan Jeffers when the second book Rylan releases on January 26, 2024.

Hi, I’m Maryann, I started life in New York, moved to New Hampshire and in 1965 uprooted again to Sacramento, California. Once I retired I moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 2011 and just moved back to Sacramento in March of 2018. My son, his wife and step-daughter flew out to Florida and we road tripped back so they got to see sights they have never seen. New Orleans and the Grand Canyon were the highlights. Now I am back on the west coast again to stay! From a young age Ialways liked to read.
I remember going to the library and reading the “Doctor Dolittle” books by Hugh Lofting. Much later on became a big fan of the classics, Edgar Alan Poe, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker and as time went by Agatha Christie, Ray Bradbury and Stephen Kingand many other authors.
My first M/M shifter book I read was written by Jan Irving the “Uncommon Cowboys” series from 2012. She was the first author I ever contacted and sent an email to letting her know how much I liked this series. Sometime along the way I read “Zero to the Bone”by Jane Seville, I think just about everyone has read this book!
As it stands right now I’m really into mysteries, grit, gore and “triggers” don’t bother me. But if a blurb piques my interest I will read the book.
My kindle collection eclectic and over three thousand books and my Audible collection is slowly growing. I have both the kindle and audible apps on my ipod, ipads, and MAC. So there is never an excuse not to be listening or reading.
I joined Goodreads around 2012 and started posting reviews. One day a wonderful lady, Lisa Horan of The Novel Approach, sent me an email to see if I wanted to join her review group. Joining her site was such an eye opener. I got introduce to so many new authors that write for the LGBTQ genre. Needless to say, it was heart breaking when it ended.
But I found a really great site, QRI and it’s right here in Sacramento. Last year at QSAC I actually got to meet Scott Coatsworth, Amy Lane and Jeff Adams.
