Eric:
“I trusted you. You told me I could. You told me you trusted me! It was all bullshit, Carrington. As soon as something got a little rough for you, you turned on me. You wouldn’t even listen to me!”
He shook his head. “Yes, true…”
“I should have realized when you lied to me right from the beginning about who you are, that you lie about who you are.”

READ MOREWith it being the day before Christmas, Eric was in a spirited mood, playing holiday music performed by the same pop artists he favored throughout the year. I walked into the kitchen to the aroma of fresh-baked cookies and Eric humming to the Christmas tunes. Many of those cookies were already on cooling racks on the kitchen counters. Eric was using some contraption to dust powdered sugar on them, making me laugh when some of it blew back on his face. That was when he noticed me and gave me his endearing puppy-dog look. But this time, he had a dusting of white sweetness on his nose and cheeks.
“What?” he wondered.
I walked over to pull him into an embrace. “Nothing. You’re just so cute.”

Brought by the Storm is a very powerful first novel by Gareth Chris. When Eric Turner makes a spontaneous decision in a supermarket, just before a hurricane strikes, he finds that he is entertaining three strangers in his home. The hurricane strikes, the group is joined by Eric's dearest friend Mateo, secrets are revealed and Eric begins to fall in love with Carrington, who is a European politician, and who is apparently straight. The lives of everyone in the house will change for ever. I was gripped by the story and by the group of extraordinary and wonderful characters.. I greatly recommend the book and look forward to Gareth's next book Saved by the Pitcher.
Ashlee Swenson on Amazon wrote:This book was so delicious that I just ate the entire thing in one setting! I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have chosen this book to read. It's totally original, kept me interest throughout and I am so glad this is a series as I would love to hear more from this author. This was absolutely fantastic! Easily one of the best I have read so far this year.
Readingbks on Amazon wrote:Fun first read by this author! I loved the premise of the storm bringing Carrington and Eric together in a way they never would have otherwise. The shenanigans between Stefan and Mateo also brought some levity to the story. A cute, fun read and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
Jack Harkness on Amazon wrote:This is the debut novel by this author! I enjoyed reading this story and I'm excited to read book two! I read an advanced copy of this book and this is my unbiased review!
Samantha Cato on Amazon wrote:This is cleverly written and has wonderful characters. Especially Eric Turner, who is adorable and loveable. The story is compelling and it captured me. The imagery is magnificent and artful. Some things may seem far-fetched and implausible, but keep in mind, it is MM romance fiction. I recommend it.
StarDragon on Amazon wrote:Thoroughly enjoyed this one from a new to me author! It was suspenseful, well written and super fun!
A foreign dignitary, his mother and their bodyguard left by their driver in a small town by an incoming hurricane. A resident offering them shelter not knowing who they really are. The intrigue begins with cover stories to hid their identities. Also an assassin looking for them. The storyline is full of drama, miscommunication, steam, a nosy neighbor, humor and awakenings. I enjoyed and recommend this love story.
