About The Book
Organising a charity auction is no easy matter. Add a stolen masterpiece and events are set to go off the rails.
Damien Walsh knows what he wants: gain his degrees in art and criminology and join White Knight Security. He also wants Drake Norton, the handsome insurance investigator he’d met when Gloss burned, but that goal is a pipe dream – and Damien has better things to do than pine for a man who never looked twice at him.
Until a stolen painting and meddling friends force Damien and Drake into a partnership, Drake turns out far from disinterested, and Damien suddenly dares to hope.
Can Damien convince Drake that they’re a perfect match and age is just a number? Or is he destined to watch Drake leave when they’ve solved their case?
An m/m age gap, found family romance with art theft and meddling friends set in the White Knight Security world.
The Review
Damien Walsh grew up at the Rebel Retreat, and finally aged out. He has his own apartment, and now is at University earning an art degree and a criminology degree. He always remembers Rylan Jeffers’ classes, and Drake Norton’s lectures on art crime. He hopes to be able to join Fritz Bronnley’s team at the White Knights Security.
Damien is going to work with Hollis Crewe at the Rebel Retreat as an assistant. White Knights Security is planning an auction, and he’s going to be cataloguing donations. Damien’s sharp eye recognizes a painting he believes could be an original and maybe stolen. He and Hollis take the issue to Rylan, who suggests that they get Drake Norton, the insurance investigator, involved.
Drake brings back memories for Damien. He remembers when they first met and Damien was younger, Damien really likes older men.
Drake, now 36, and still working as an insurance investigator. He doesn’t mind stopping at the Rebel Retreat. The vibe of the retreat is unique with its volunteers, art, theme of self-dependence, and especially the young people who were there. The charity auction will help the organization immensely. Seeing Damien again piques Drake’s interest. But it seems that there is still some negativity between Damien and Drake.
When Drake and Damien meet with Matias, a friend and art expert, he confirms the Sisley painting is stolen. Damien sees firsthand how Drake is treated by his superior, and doesn’t like it.
Damien takes a big step and investigates the painting on his own to find out where it came from. But there’s danger everywhere. He’s attacked, And then Drake is attacked too. No matter what happens with the stolen painting, there is still an issue between Drake and Damien. Especially where Drake is concerned. Is there any future for Damien and Drake?
Keswick takes readers into the world of investigation. It’s a super suspenseful mystery – Damien and Drake build their investigation on the knowledge of the art and crime world as they know it. Damien is more mature than he’s given credit for, but Drake has his own issue which keeps them apart. It’s filled with excitement, friendships, love and romance.
I highly recommend Christmas Knights, the fifth book in the White Knights Security series. All the stories within the series are quick reads, and it’s fun to revisit the couples for this holiday special: Fritz Bronnley & Hollis Crewe; Rylan Jeffers & Kris Monroe; Grant Keeping & Spencer Corel and Luca Birch & Jax Monroe.

Hi, I’m Maryann, I started life in New York, moved to New Hampshire and in 1965 uprooted again to Sacramento, California. Once I retired I moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 2011 and just moved back to Sacramento in March of 2018. My son, his wife and step-daughter flew out to Florida and we road tripped back so they got to see sights they have never seen. New Orleans and the Grand Canyon were the highlights. Now I am back on the west coast again to stay! From a young age Ialways liked to read.
I remember going to the library and reading the “Doctor Dolittle” books by Hugh Lofting. Much later on became a big fan of the classics, Edgar Alan Poe, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker and as time went by Agatha Christie, Ray Bradbury and Stephen Kingand many other authors.
My first M/M shifter book I read was written by Jan Irving the “Uncommon Cowboys” series from 2012. She was the first author I ever contacted and sent an email to letting her know how much I liked this series. Sometime along the way I read “Zero to the Bone”by Jane Seville, I think just about everyone has read this book!
As it stands right now I’m really into mysteries, grit, gore and “triggers” don’t bother me. But if a blurb piques my interest I will read the book.
My kindle collection eclectic and over three thousand books and my Audible collection is slowly growing. I have both the kindle and audible apps on my ipod, ipads, and MAC. So there is never an excuse not to be listening or reading.
I joined Goodreads around 2012 and started posting reviews. One day a wonderful lady, Lisa Horan of The Novel Approach, sent me an email to see if I wanted to join her review group. Joining her site was such an eye opener. I got introduce to so many new authors that write for the LGBTQ genre. Needless to say, it was heart breaking when it ended.
But I found a really great site, QRI and it’s right here in Sacramento. Last year at QSAC I actually got to meet Scott Coatsworth, Amy Lane and Jeff Adams.
