About The Book

Spencer’s thirtieth birthday is right around the corner, and he wants to say goodbye to his twenties with a bang. Literally.

As a self-proclaimed sex god, Spencer has sworn off love and dedicated himself to finishing his F***-it List – a collection of wild fantasies he’s checked off one by one. Now, only one fantasy remains: rock a virgin’s world with a night of unforgettable sex.

Shy, sweet Mickey seems like the perfect candidate, but he’ll need a major confidence boost before he’s ready to go all the way. Hoping for a chance to be Mickey’s first, Spencer makes him an offer he can’t refuse – he’ll transform Mickey into San Francisco’s next sex god.

Mickey, who’s always felt out of step with the gay scene, jumps at the chance to reinvent himself. It isn’t long, though, before styling tips and flirting lessons give way to stolen glances and heart-to-heart conversations, and what started as a playful makeover begins to look a lot like falling in love.

For Spencer, feelings were never part of the plan. But as Mickey blossoms into a self-assured man and their connection deepens, Spencer is forced to ask himself: is Mickey just another checkmark on his list, or could he be the man who finally makes Spencer believe in love?

The Review

Spencer Ewing is a self-proclaimed sex god. He and his friends have a group where they meet once a week and reveal what they did the week before. To Spencer and his friends, sex is a game with an actual list of rules. But soon, Spencer will be turning thirty, and only one thing remains on his list – have sex with a virgin. Not an easy accomplishment in San Francisco.

On his way to the weekly brunch, Spencer sees a man and a woman pulling two kids in a wagon. One of the kids drops their stuffed toy. Spencer returns it, and ends up face to face with a man who admits he is not married and a virgin. Finally, the last item on his list is within his grasp.

Unfortunately, Spencer doesn’t get the man’s name or phone number, but luck is on his side when he goes to a speed dating, event looking to pick up men, and sees the stranger sitting there as a participant. He finally gets the man’s name and phone number, and decides to follow up and get to know him better.

Mickey Briggs is twenty-eight years old and works as a live-in nanny. When his father had a car accident, killing his fifteen-year-old sister and leaving his dad with brain damage, Mickey was left to raise his younger siblings, leaving him no time for a social life. His mother became addicted to drugs, and his father was never the same.

Spencer promises to made Mickey a sex god, with new clothes, a new hairdo, and a meeting with the group for Sunday brunch. With his birthday coming up, Spencer was ready to put his plan into action. Then he begins to have feelings for Mickey.

Mickey is not one to want sex with multiple partners, but he does want to with Spencer, even though he knows Spencer will never be satisfied with just one person. Spencer plays the sex game, never allowing the man to stay overnight, and never having sex with the same man twice.

Mickey knows that if he gives in to Spencer, they will probably never be together again, but his heart wants what his brain knows is a mistake.

A player and a virgin meet, one wanting to complete his list, and one just wanting to have sex with the man he has grown to really like. Both have lessons to learn. This story is filled with surprises, sex and betrayal. How long before the player realizes that sex is more than just a one-night stand? And how long before the virgin finally gets what he has wanted for so long?

Five stars.
