Five characters from the Clearwater, Larkspur and Delamere Mysteries find themselves taking the train to Cornwall for the 1892 Larkspur Hall Christmas Eve ball. To pass the time, they each tell a story from their past.

Sitting in their carriage is a stranger who listens to their stories of detection, mystery and prophesy, and recognises some of the people involved. As they near their destination, the stranger realises he is more involved with his fellow passengers than they know, but who is he? Where is he going, and why?

1892 can be read as a short, standalone novella, and there’s no need to have read the Clearwater, Larkspur or Delamere series to enjoy the story. However, you might gain more from reading 1892 if you already know the characters and their histories.

Reviews:Anthony Pisacano on amazon wrote:

Jackson Marsh has gifted his readers another treasure from his Clearwater Tales.

On a train bound for the Christmas Eve festivities at Larkspur Hall, a Baron, housekeeper, detective, antiquarian and a professor, relate to each other tales from their past.

A priest is also in attendance but not for the same reason. He is made welcome to their first class coach, and becomes privy to their personal stories.

Each story gives us a closer look into the background of the characters we have come to know through the previous stories associated with the Clearwater Mysteries.

I especially enjoyed the Professor’s tale as his background was not divulged when we met him during the Larkspur Mystery series.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tales and especially the final “priest’s” tale, which left me with a lump in my throat.

I am so glad I discovered Jackson Marsh’s books. His story telling is expertly detailed that keeps you interested and wanting more, and he has a great sense of humor that he instills into his characters.

1892 (The Clearwater Tales) is a must read, and I strongly urge familiarizing yourself with Jackson Marsh’s other books.

I can’t think of a better gift than this!

About the Author

Hi. Jackson was born in 2017 as the penname for me (James) so that I could publish my new gay fiction independently from my other writing work. I was born on the south coast of England during a blizzard, but now like to warm thing up with MM romance novels, gay mysteries and some occasional erotica. In 2007 I was awarded and EGPA award for my erotic short stories, and in 2018 I won a Best Screenplay award for one of my films. I am a diverse writer with thrillers, comedies and horror stories under my James belt, and now romance and mystery under my Jackson belt.

At the moment I am concentrating on two genres: older/younger MM romance, and youth mysteries with early 20s main characters and a love story included.

I now live on a Greek island with my husband.
