It had been Tanner’s goal to make sure Camden didn’t waste another birthday all alone. Yep, his good buddy from college was hell bent on getting Camden “some action” as he put it. In fact, the idiot set up an entire weekend get-away on a private remote island where a group of men, including him, would be playing a very sexy game of chase and capture. Happy Birthday, Camden!
Oh yes, it promised to be quite the game. An adult twist on "Capture the Flag". Very adult. Especially when it came to what the "flag" actually was and where it went. The fun, very adult part? You still needed to capture your opponent's flag to win.
However, Camden had immediately ended up the prey and that big, sexy, dark haired, muscle bound, relentless god of a man, Gunner, was the hunter. And he was closing in. Shouldn’t it be the other way around since this was supposed to be Camden's birthday present?
Well, it didn’t matter. There were going to be three rounds of this game. And it appeared like this round Camden was going down before he even reached the first check point. Yep. Going down on all fours, stripped, flag confiscated and – well – let’s just say he would be screwed.
Oh yes, well screwed.
So... what was the down side of losing again?

“I need more coffee,” Camden grumbled. He stood, too, and headed back to the large coffeepot sitting on the still empty long table. He put his mug under the nozzle, flipped the toggle and hot, fragrant coffee spilled out. He sighed. Damn that Steven! He was going to be a pain today. Steven would never have entered Camden’s mind as a possible target, but maybe Camden would have to go after the idiot first. Then he would handcuff him to some permanent fixture and take him out of the damn game completely.
“Why so serious this morning?”
Camden felt hot breath down his back and he jerked around to face Tanner. “What the fuck, you people! Quit trying to give me a fucking heart attack!”
“Good morning to you, too. Oh. And happy birthday! So what’s got your underwear all up in a bunch?”
“Nothing! Just…nothing.”
READ MORE“Could it be Steven’s spreading his sunny self all over the place again this morning?” Tanner reached over and grabbed a cup and filled it with coffee putting his face over the rising steam.
Camden moaned, glancing back at where both Gunner and Steven ended up. There was a row of floor-to-ceiling windows and in the middle were two glass doors. Gunner and Steven had evidently walked through those doors and were now standing out in the sun, Gunner emulating the stunning god he was and Steven looking…adorable. Fuck. He was. All hate, irritation, jealousy and fear aside, the guy was cute. Just a great big twink.
“How the hell is it, Tanner, you could possibly like something like that?”
Tanner snorted. “Oh! You’re going to judge me? Mr. Codependent feels the need to judge my taste in men?”
“Shut up. I get it. We all screw up. But damn, Tanner. He’s after Gunner.”
Tanner sighed. “Yeah. It was a mistake to bring him. I know that now. Hell, I knew that last night. But honestly, I didn’t actually ask him to come. He found out about the tickets and insisted on coming with. I had no clue he had a thing for Gunner, but I suppose now that’s the reason he insisted on coming, not a sudden desire to be with me. I just thought he would be a great weekend fling, you know?” He smirked. “Just so you have faith in me again, I honestly had no intention of making it longer term than this weekend. I just wanted to have some fun, too.”
“Well, you and I may have to pick other targets.”
“Done.”
Camden shot a glance back at Tanner. “Really? You already picked someone out?”
“I think so.” He nodded.
“Who?” Camden scanned the room. “Point him out.”
“He’s not in here yet.” Camden turned to Tanner just in time to see him wink.
“Being cryptic again, I see.” Camden laughed. “Fine. Keep him all to yourself. Good for you anyway. I still have to scope out the possibilities.”
“Scope or be scoped.”
“Excuse me?”
Tanner nodded toward the windows as he sipped from his cup. Camden turned and met Gunner’s feral gaze. He was leaning back against the railing of the deck, one leg crossing the other, one hand in his pocket and the other holding his coffee as he sipped. Steven stood beside him, flailing his arms and yakking, totally oblivious to the fact Gunner was not paying any attention what so ever.
Maybe he didn’t have to pick another target after all.
He smiled and winked.
