Jotham was one of the oldest of the paranormal world, and a dragon shifter. He had been one of the attending Councilmen for the mating Games, since its creations. It is a time, for most, to come and have some fun, play some games, and hopefully find their mate. However, for Jotham, it was the time of his worst nightmare. Someone had taken his daughter over a hundred years ago. Discovering that Councilman Troy, his supposed friend, was behind his daughter’s disappearance was something Jotham had a hard time dealing with.
When he was first approached about the sinister actions of his fellow councilman, Jotham had not believed the men's accusations. Then Ricky, Ian, Joop, their mates, and family proved their words were true. Discovering his daughter had died was heartbreaking, but then he saw a picture in a file and knew the little girl looking back at him could only be one person...his granddaughter.
Ricky and Ian convinced him that maybe one of the victims might be able to help them find the other captives. That is how he met his destiny.... his Q... his mate.
Q had never really known a life outside the labs and captivity. So many people and no ability to communicate was terrifying. Then he saw the most beautiful sight in the world. His koala wanted to pounce and claim the man...but then he found out Jotham was a man of power and that type of person had only brought him fear and pain.
Can Q push past his fear and help his mate find his granddaughter and others still being imprisoned? Can Q push his fear even harder aside and allow his dragon mate to claim him? Or will all be lost forever?

READ MORESadness clouded The Councilman's eyes, "I guess. I just feel like there is more I can be doing. Who knows what those animals are doing to my grandchild. I couldn't save my Lalania, I must do everything to get my grandchild."
Councilman Eagan sighed heavily. How could he have been so ignorant to what was happening to the paranormal world. If not for Ricky and his friends, Jotham would never have known that one of his fellow council members had been using scientists to run experiments on some of the most precious shifters and creatures out there.
"Maybe we should sick Ricky on them." Ian snorted.
Kahn laughed, "That clears a room, Ian not makes you talk."
Joop gave Ricky the evil eye, saying, "Ricky's skunk ass is not a joke."
Sighing, Ricky replied, "Jeez Joop I said I was sorry. You guys were being threatened and I can't help what my animal did. I was protecting the ones I love."
Joop squinted his right eye, hissing, "I said no."
Ian giggled, "I am so glad my sense of smell sucks in human form."
"Oh shut up, Ian." Joop said with a pout.
Jotham felt a tight squeeze to his hand and looked down to his mate, "Is everything alright, little one?"
Q looked anxiously around and then back at Jotham, shaking his head, then looked back down.
"We will find Kimmy, sir. It's just a matter of time. Your men are looking in the tunnels and Mom and Molly are searching the records we recovered from the lab area as well as the tunnels there." Ricky said encouragingly.
Again, Jotham felt Q tightening his grip. This time when he looked he could see Q was picking at his pants and not looking anywhere but his feet.
Leaning down, Jotham asked, "Do you know where my grandchild might be, Q?"
Q looked up at Jotham. He was pale and had a haunted look.
"Q, if you know where Kimmy and the others might be, you need to tell us." Ricky said quickly.
Q pulled his hand from Jotham and looked at Joop and Kahn and then out on the field, but never in Jotham or Ricky's direction.
Jotham could tell his mate was not only scared, but he gave the scent of guilt, "Please, if you know where to find Kimmy and the others, tell us."
Q finally met Jotham's eyes and Jotham saw the tears dangling from his lashes, causing his own anxiety to rise, "Is she dead? Is that it, Q? Is my grandchild as dead as her mother?"
His mouth dropped open, then Q grabbed Jotham's forearm and shook his head rapidly.
"If she isn't dead, do you know where she might be?" Ricky asked quickly.
A loud cheer startled Q and he began to look around frantically. Q then gasped and began to back up into Joop.
"Q, what are you doing? What's wrong? No one is going to hurt you here. We all just want to know where the others might be." Joop said calmly as he pushed at Q and stood up.
Q began shaking uncontrollably as he blinked over and over again. Then suddenly he looked at Mary and put his right finger between the pointer and middle finger of the left hand and slid it fast over and over, then fisted his left hand and slid his thumb up.
Mary quickly stood and started pulling on Ian, "We have to run. Danger is coming."
