Monday morning, we were in our first class session early, working on our conversational skills. Our instructor informed us we would take a trip to the local zoo later in the week. Then she asked us to write a short story about our favorite animal currently. According to her, we would write another story about a new favorite after our trip to the zoo. She asked us to describe the animal and what we liked about it. I thought sure Tanner would write about the rooster we saw in Key West, so I stayed away from it. Instead, I wrote about my favorite animal from our trip to the Florida Keys.

I could see powerful muscles flexing just under the skin as it swam past me. Even though it breathed air through its lungs rather than gills, it seemed perfectly at home in the marine world and was not at all alarmed by my presence.
Classmate guesses of what I was describing included a dolphin, porpoise, whale, seal, and sea lion. They were all wrong. Since no one could guess from my description, it was finally time to reveal my favorite animal. I chose not to reveal a name, but flashed up a photograph, then quickly took it down. Of course, Tanner knew exactly who it was, and glared at me, bordering on panic. I subtly shook my head from side to side to let him know I would not disclose his identity. Then I subtly winked at him, so he seemed to relax a bit.
The course instructor insisted I put it up again so everyone could get a second look, and she also directed me to reveal whom it was. I flashed the photo up on the screen again for two or three seconds. Then took I it down. I refused to display it again, and I also refused to reveal an identity. She was cranky and maybe a little horny, but too bad.
Considering how often he posed in the nude for the Art School sketching classes, I didn’t know why this made him so anxious. However, it clearly seemed of concern.
