JR Loveless did an excellent job with the second novel "Forgiving Thayne" of the True Mates Series. The story line continues on from the first one, but got stronger with the twists and turns of frustration. The character development continued to be amazing as the two main characters, Nick and Thayne, go through a difficult start and progression of a relationship which would end up them being true mates. Initially on meeting, Thayne refused to want a mate ever, but his inner wolf wanted Nick. Nick knew Thayne was his True Mate, but when Thayne rejected him he went through a almost destructive time accepting this. Thayne's past was catching up with him. He had changed a human into one of the Created ones who was extremely dangerous and was after Thayne for doing it to him. When he told his parents, the only way for him to break the bond he had with Mark (the created one) was to mate with Nick, his true mate. Seth got Nick there under false pretenses, but after explaining and much upset of realizing that Thayne still didn't really want him, he agreed to help Thayne and mate with him to break the bond. Thayne still had to be punished by his father, the Alpha of his pack, for changing a human and he was to be exiled from the pack and the territory. Thayne had to go with Nick to his home and to his pack. The tension and drama between the two only grew as the days went on, but they also started to feel the connection unwillingly. Mark, the created one, found where Thayne was and the fight was on with Thayne, Nick, the Alpha, and some of the other pack members fighting Mark. This was a very emotional, dramatic story where the main character almost died, but Thayne realized that where he wanted to be was with Nick. The story was a drawn out story, but I enjoyed all of it. With all the frustration and rejection involved, true mates find their true love towards one another. Turns out to be a beautiful story that definitely is a page turner. Seth and Kasey are brought into this story tying the two stories together and the pasts of both Thayne and Nick seemed to finally resolve itself with a heartwarming ending. This is a Must Read if you like Paranormal MM Romance.. Loved it.
