Jamie
Thanksgiving weekend at home seemed like more of a chore than a celebration since my wife had died, but I would never begrudge my daughter the love and attention of our big crazy family just to wallow in self pity. I could always return to that next week.

Devon
Thanks to the fact that my best friend’s family literally lives five feet away from campus, I have a home to go to for Thanksgiving that doesn’t involve traveling clear across the county for a few short days. It’s an easy choice, since I’ll see my family in less than a month for winter break anyway.

When two strangers, one the older brother and the other the best friend, unexpectedly end up sharing the same bedroom, will a holiday they were both just looking to get through end up being the most important event of their lives?

Meet the Gordons of Hampstead Valley

Hampstead University looms behind the Marchetti-Gordon house, a large home in the center of a cul-de-sac, that was once home to seven kids. Most have grown and moved on from the university town, but the pull of Hampstead Valley, its prestigious university, and Mom’s holiday meals, tends to draw the family home for large and small occasions.

Meet the Gordons, Professor Clifford Gordon and Dean Natalie Marchetti-Gordon, and their brood, eldest brothers Jamie and AJ, whose mother took off back when they were teens, and their half siblings Vance, Josh, Caid, Hillary and Hunter. The Gordons range in age from forty three to seventeen and are looking for love, whether they know it or not!

First up, is Jamie’s Light, a best friend’s brother, age-gap, bi-awakening romance.

Jamie’s light was almost extinguished after the tragic death of his beloved wife. If it wasn’t for his energetic daughter and his loud, crazy family, Jamie doesn’t know if he would have made it through.

When single dad Jamie meets his brother’s college roommate, will it be enough for his light to shine bright once more?

Join the crazy Marchetti-Gordon crew, as they navigate Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, a “friendly” game of touch football, a seven year old’s dance recital and a big house that still doesn’t have enough beds when everyone is home for the holidays.

All books in the series are low angst MM romance novels full of men looking for their happily ever afters.

This book for me is a 5/5! I truly enjoyed reading this book. Sometimes I was worried about how it would progress but it is a good book. The main characters are Devon and Jamie. Devon and Josh are roommates in college. Devon spends a lot of time at Josh’s family home. One thanksgiving he meets Jamie who is Josh’s oldest brother. Devon thinks Jamie is very attractive but Jamie is straight and a widower. His wife was killed and he is raising, Vera, their daughter. But surprisingly Jamie feels an attraction to Devon. The attraction is so much that he invites Devon stay with him during an internship. Things go very well for the two men except that Devon is very driven. Jamie has to make the decision to come out to his family. That is handled very well. Devin finishes school and moves to New York for graduate school and to intern at a big company. Jamie is concerned that Devon is not as interested in him as he is in Devon. Yes Devon does get caught up in his job and Jamie starts pulling away. Both men will need to do better communicating with each other in order for them to work as a couple.

This book has a little bit of everything I love about MM books: age gap, bi-awakening, single dad, best friend's brother. I liked Devon and Jamie's meet-cute and after the initial hook-up, I liked that they took things slow and explored without jumping in too fast. It was a little heartbreaking when Devon started pulling away from Jamie since he was worried about hurting him if they committed to a relationship. And Jamie had already lived through the stress of a spouse having a demanding career. Could he put his heart on the line again? I really liked Jamie's huge family. And drunk Devon was great and it helped bring them back together. I loved how everything worked out in the end. I definitely recommend this book!

About the Author

Madalyn George is the author of (mostly) low-angst, (hopefully) funny MM Romance happily ever afters (spoiler alert). I write what I enjoy reading, contemporary stories with sweet clueless guys who are really good at s3x!

I've always been an avid reader, and I discovered MM Romance after watching an indy film that was based on a self-published novel. I headed over to Amazon to check it out and never looked back! I spend most of my time working or writing, but enjoy movies and theater as well as visits to the beach and Disney when I have some free time.
