The Walker Boys #3, Dreamspun Desires #69
by
All hands on deck for a shipboard romance—with a secret.
Like his cousins, Devin Walker aspires to be a chef, but he wants to indulge his wanderlust while feeding his customers, and working a cruise ship seems like the solution. Since he can’t find an opening in the kitchen, he’s happy to start out in a position behind the bar.
While onboard Poseidon’s Pearl, Devin is assigned to shepherd a visiting executive. Paul Bailey is quiet and unassuming, and a car accident that cost him his leg also shattered his confidence. He doesn’t think he’s attractive to other men anymore, and Devin is eager to show him just how wrong he is. Paul has a surprising secret that might sink their passionate affair before it even leaves port.

Seeking Solace by authors Ari McKay was my favorite in The Walker a Boys series. Even though I adored the other characters in the previous two books, Devin Walker and Paul Mercer were my two favorite men.
Like much of his family, Devin aspired to be a chef, but took the nautical route to fulfill his dreams. Paul, heir to the cruise ship Devin worked on had secluded his life after a tragic accident and a similar breakup.
Devin and Paul were perfect for each other. As with the former couples, Ari McKay found the perfect mismatch to match. Small town Texas boys met city slickers with good hearts.
The angst and drama was enough to keep me interested but not over the top cheesy and unbelievable. The men were realistic with probable issues that could be solved and worked on, so everyone got their HEA.
Devin’s sense of humor, patience and guidance toward Paul was aptly displayed throughout the book, as was Paul’s desire to let his guard down and allow himself to be cherished and loved.
A winner of a tale.
