Three years after leaving the streets, Matt Williams is living the life he never thought he would. He has a roof over his head, close friends, a new family and is close to finishing his first year at University.
He’s also in a relationship. His first actual relationship since his time on the streets.
A relationship that no one knows exists.
After six months together, Matt doesn’t know if he can continue with the secrecy…and the lies. But if Matt wants to keep the man he loves then that’s what he has to do because the man he loves can’t-no won't- accept he’s gay.
As the relationship struggles under the pressure of the lies Matt has told, an incident occurs that causes it to end. Heartbroken, Matt attempts to move on and put his ex in the past.
But when his ex wants him back, does Matt have the strength to fight for the openness and honesty he needs, or will Matt accept it’s truly over and walk away for good?

I absolutely loved The Bonds Within and read it in one sitting, even though my heart broke along with Matt's on several occasions. Matt was such a strong character, despite (or perhaps because) he gave his love interest so many second chances. The development of the man Matt loves from total douchebag to an acceptable human being is well conceived and usually believable.
The author's love of her characters is clearly shown in her writing and I am looking forward to Luke's story. I would like to see more of Seb and Tom further down the line as I think there are still things that need to be resolved between them.
