Light My Fire is book one in the sweet with knotty heat MM shifter mpreg romance series: GSC in Love. It features an alpha dragon shifter who has secrets, a powerful omega witch who isn’t afraid to fight, fated love, mpreg and a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

The Review

This is my first story from Katy Manz, a good paranormal romance story with fated mates.

Rayne and Zander come into contact because Zander’s clan has attacked Rayne’s coven and pack, but they know instinctively who they are to each other. It turns out that there is a specific reason for the attack, but a lot of things must now be taken into consideration.

Rayne never planned on having a mate, and is very hesitant about what it means for his identity and independence, while Zander is already planning what their lives could be like together. However, unlike what Rayne imagines and some alphas can be like, Zander is all for equality at every point of their relationship, and for deciding things together.

I enjoyed the build-up of their relationship, the storyline regarding Zander’s father and the attacks on Rayne’s coven as that is something that doesn’t just stop once the two meet. Things continue even once an agreement between clan and coven/pack is made which has Rayne very much on edge.

I struggled a little bit with his hesitancy when it came to trusting Zander, even after their mating. It didn’t really feel like they connected on that deeper level that fated mates are known for. The plot also wrapped up a little too quickly and neatly. I’m hoping that something happens in the future to bring drama back into the series.

A good start to the series, introducing readers into this new family that has many possibilities for future characters to have their own HEA.

I read a lot, every night for at least 4-5 hours and I love to get lost in the world that an author has created. The best ones leave you wanting more and at a loss for words to describe just how good it is but I’ll try my best.

I’ll read pretty much any sub genre within the mm genre. Since discovering it a few years ago, I rarely read anything else. One thing I won’t touch is horror, a definite no no for me!

Never ask me what my favourite anything is as I’ll have to give you a list of about ten or twenty things. How am I able to pick one food, book or film out of so many that I love?!
